how it works

arranging Your consultation

The steps that you need to take in order to organise a consultation are as follows:

  • Read the important information below – this goes into more detail about how our process works.
  • Decide if you would like to be seen remotely or in-person.
  • Tell us if you would like to see a specific expert or if you would like us to recommend the most suitable medic.

Important Information

It is important that you provide us with the information that our admin team and our UK based Medical and Surgical Consultants (Professionals) require in order to provide you with the best advice. To gather this information we use a bespoke secure patient portal, called Resolve eCare.

The first step in this process is to register your case on Resolve eCare. Registering on our portal, allows you to upload your healthcare information securely and request a second opinion. This can either be for a specific Consultant or an appointment where we assist with allocating the right medic.

After completing your request, you will be asked for a payment of £150. Payment must be made before your request is processed.

Second opinions can be very complex. In advance of any appointment and the report being provided, one of our Consultants must assess your case. This assessment determines whether a virtual consultation is required to complete your report.

Once the Consultant has reviewed your healthcare information, you will receive an email with a link to your management plan. This plan will state whether the Consultant can provide a report based on the information you have provided. Or, if there is a requirement for a virtual consultation. At this point you will be asked to complete payment of the fee for completion of report. This price is variable, but every Consultant provides a costing on their profile.

Once you have read and processed the email, you must decide whether you are happy to proceed. You will be able to click the proceed icon, following which payment will be taken, once again – this is in advance of any consultation or completion of the report.

Resolve Second Opinion aims to provide an appointment, or the report, within 2 days of this final payment being processed.

Once the completed report has been uploaded to the e-Care system, you will be notified via email. Within the report you will have information around your diagnosis, prognosis and possible management options.

You will be able to communicate directly with the Consultant via the messaging system within Resolve eCare portal.

The Professionals (Medical and Surgical Consultants) that work with us, charge a variable rate for their Consultation Services, based on the complexity of the medical problem, time required, and consultation requirements. Such fees are determined by the Professional once the Assessment has been completed. These fees are at the discretion of the relevant Professional (and we do not set the fees). However, each Professional provides a costing on their profile in our directory. Once the initial Assessment has been completed, an email will be sent to you, asking for your review and acceptance of the management plan. Once accepted further payment will be requested for the relevant additional Consultation Services and medical report.

Once vetted, RSO will provide a report detailing recommendations, and potential further costs. No further money will be taken, unless authorised by yourself.
